Dak Prescott, Cowboys resume contract talks

by Mike Maher | Cowboys Correspondent | Wed, Mar 25th 6:59pm EDT

Quarterback Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys have resumed negotiations for a contract extension, according to ESPN NFL insider Ed Werder. The team placed the exclusive franchise tag on Prescott earlier this month, but he has yet to sign the tender. (Ed Werder on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Prescott is going to be the quarterback of the Cowboys this season one way or another, and the team should have every incentive to sign him to a long-term contract extension. The longer they wait, the more the price goes up, especially with a Patrick Mahomes extension with the Chiefs on the horizon. In 2019, Prescott completed 388 of his 596 pass attempts for 4,902 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions while adding 277 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
