Tua Tagovailoa would have been Chargers' choice if he was available

Pat McAfee is reporting that the Chargers wanted to take Tua Tagovailoa with the sixth overall pick in this year's draft. (Pat McAfee on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

This goes against a lot of the pre-draft reports that had Tagovailoa dropping out of the top-10. It appears as though a lot of the speculation and uncertainty regarding his injury history was nothing but smoke and mirrors as he was taken fifth overall by the Dolphins and would have been taken sixth by the Chargers if available. Either situation would have most likely landed Tagovailoa in a red-shirt position his rookie year, but this bodes well for his long-term value as it's becoming obvious that his injury concerns were inflated by the media and front offices hoping for a steal. Tagovailoa will likely sit behind Ryan Fitzpatrick in Miami this year but his sky-high ceiling makes him a great dynasty target.
