Jameis Winston's contract with the Saints has a base value of $1.1M, per Field Yates. He will receive a $148,000 signing bonus, a base salary of $952,000, and $3.4M in possible incentives. (Field Yates on Twitter)
There was a lot of uncertainty surrounding Winston, where he would land, what role he would play, and how much he would make. Now that the contract has been seen, it's apparent that Winston is using this year to be mentored by Drew Brees and Sean Payton with the hopes to develop into a better player for the future. With a minimum salary of just $1.1M, money doesn't seem to be Winston's immediate priority. Unless the injury bug strikes Brees in 2020 there will be little opportunity for Winston, but he will get a chance to observe a future Hall of Fame quarterback up close. After this season he will assuredly hit the free agent market again with a more polished skillset and another opportunity to cash in.
