Cam Newton a potential fit with Ron Rivera in Washington?

by Adam Koffler | Fri, May 1st 8:58am EDT

When asked about the possibility of Cam Newton in Washington, current Redskins and former Panthers head coach Ron Rivera told the media, "I think with Cam, and I have thought about it, I mean, it's something that's run through my mind, and it's about the situation and circumstances. I'm not sure I would do it. I'm not sure if I wouldn't do it. It depends on circumstances." (Around the NFL on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

It doesn’t sound like Rivera is ruling out the possibility of a reunion with Newton in Washington, but it also doesn’t sound overly promising either, especially given the uncertainty surrounding his health heading into the season. The Redskins already have two capable, starting-caliber QBs on the roster in Dwayne Haskins and Kyle Allen, so it would definitely be a bit of a surprise to see the Redskins sign the nine-year veteran.
