Cowboys LB Leighton Vander Esch (neck surgery) joined the ‘Boys and Girl Podcast recently and provided an update on his health after having off-season neck surgery. He told ESPN’s Jane Slater that he feels “as good now as I ever have.” (Bobby Belt on Twitter)
“I’m ready to roll. I’ve been training full-go for a couple of months now, so it’s not holding me back whatsoever. I feel, like I said, just as good as I ever have. I’m just excited to play football at this point and get back on the field. Whenever they give us the green light to go, we’ll be ready.” The Cowboys seem confident in Vander Esch as he returns from neck surgery, not having selected a linebacker in this year’s Draft. After missing seven games in 2019, the former 2018 first-round pick will look to get back on track this season. He recorded 72 tackles in nine games last season after recording 140 total tackles his rookie year with the Cowboys.
