Devonta Freeman takes to Twitter after reports of retirement surface

by Adam Koffler | Mon, May 25th 6:32pm EDT

Former Falcons and current free agent RB Devonta Freeman tweeted, “I got 10 more years in me,” after reports of retirement surfaced from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport Monday morning. (Mike Garafolo on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Freeman quickly deleted the tweet, likely because it contained some vulgar language in addition to his affirmation that he could still play in the NFL for another 10 years. While it’s probably unrealistic to think a 28-year old running back with 950 carries and 323 targets over six seasons still has 10 years left in the tank, Freeman is clearly upset at the report that he is considering retirement if he can’t get the right deal. Stay tuned on the Freeman front, as there have been conflicting reports over the past couple weeks as to his future in the NFL.
