After failed negotiations in regards to a contract extension, Adams has made it clear to the Jets that he wants to be traded. His preferred destination is Dallas. It was reported earlier this off-season that The Cowboys are interested in acquiring Adams, but there “isn’t any traction” towards a deal. The Ravens, Texans, Chiefs, Eagles, 49ers and the Buccaneers were also among the teams Adams would welcome a trade. The Jets are listening to offers for their star safety, but The 24-year-old is looking to become one of the highest paid safeties in the NFL. He was reportedly seeking a contract worth above $20 million annually. Adams is entering the fourth year of his four-year, $22 million rookie contract. He racked up 75 tackles, 6.5 sacks, one interception and two forced fumbles across 14 games in 2019. Adams is currently ranked first among all defensive backs in the latest IDP expert consensus rankings.
