Patrick Mahomes inks 10-year extension with the Chiefs

The Chiefs are signing QB Patrick Mahomes to a 10-year extension, worth $450 million. The deal includes an injury guarantee of $140 million. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Mahomes is signing reportedly the richest contract in NFL history and will be a member of the Chiefs until 2031. The deal is worth over $400 million and the move is reportedly tied to the salary cap. Mahomes is entering his fourth season as a pro and will turn 25 this fall. He threw for 4,031 yards and a 26:5 TD:INT across 14 games in 2019. Mahomes is currently the number one quarterback in the expert consensus rankings.
