Ronald Jones II

Ronald Jones adding muscle mass and working on his catching skills

by Matthew Judd | Thu, Jul 16th 3:53pm EDT

Ronald Jones has been training in the heat of the Arizona desert and has added six to eight pounds of muscles mass this off-season, bringing his weight up to 225 lbs (he was only 205 lbs at the NFL Combine). He has also been catching about 300 balls a day as he looks to increase his reliability in the Buccaneers passing attack. (The Athletic)

Fantasy Impact:

Jones ran the ball 172 times last season and could see that number increase this year following the departure of Peyton Barber and his 154 carries. Often limited in the passing game last year he still caught about two passes a game last season; if Jones were to increase that number at all in 2020 it would be very beneficial to his fantasy production. That being said, Ronald Jones will face increased competition in the passing game from third round pick Ke'Shawn Vaughn. Jones's Expert Consensus Ranking (ECR) has been steadily on the rise over the past month, climbing from ~103 to ~91.
