Cam Akers signs rookie deal with the Rams

Fantasy Impact:
Akers was selected 52nd overall by the Rams in the 2020 NFL Draft. He will compete with Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown for the lion share of carries in the Rams backfield. All three running backs will be used in some type of committee. Rams GM Les Snead said "Brown will be used as a goal-line and short yardage back, Henderson as a home run hitter and Akers as the "go to guy." The 21-year-old logged 231 carries for 1,144 yards and 14 touchdowns in his junior year at Florida State. Akers is a target in dynasty leagues and is currently 27th among all running backs in the latest re-draft expert consensus rankings.
