49ers 2nd-year WR Deebo Samuel is likely to miss a few games to start the season, according to GM John Lynch. (Cam Inman on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Lynch said on KNBR, “not going to put an exact timeline on it but it's fair to say he may miss some games at the start of the year." The fantasy community was hopeful Samuel would be able to make a full recovery in time for the start of the season, but the 49ers GM doesn’t believe that’s likely to happen. In all likelihood, Samuel starts the season on the active PUP and could miss as many as six games when all is said and done. His value has certainly fallen and he could be a difference maker for your team down the stretch, but have other options available for the early part of the season. Brandon Aiyuk, Jalen Hurd, and Kendrick Bourne are the likely WR beneficiaries of a Deebo absence.
