Bears defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano talked about Roquan Smith today saying "I just think we've seen Pro Bowl-caliber play, now it's just gotta be consistent. Do it week-in and week-out and stay consistent. Coming into Year Three, he's going to have a phenomenal year." (Kevin Fishbain on Twitter)
Smith's sophomore campaign was cut short after suffering a torn pectoral muscle in week 12. Over 28 career games the former first-round pick has had 222 total tackles. While the Bears have no shortage of quality linebackers, Smith should assume the duties as the the Mike in Pagano's 4-3 scheme with Khalil Mack and newly acquired Robert Quinn on the edges and the aging Danny Trevathon playing the Will. Smith is currently the seventh overall linebacker in our IDP rankings and should be set to lead the Bears in tackles in 2020.
