Russell Okung debating retirement over COVID-19 concerns

Panther's guard Russell Okung apparently thought about opting out prior to Thursday's deadline and is currently mulling over retirement due to concerns about COVID-19.

Okung, 31 years old, missed over half of the 2019 season with pulmonary embolism and concerns about his health could keep him from going back to the field if he doesn't feel safe with the league's regulations and measures for COVID-19. After 10 seasons in the league, Okung has made over $100M throughout his Pro Bowl career so he isn't hurting for money and is prioritizing his longterm health over anything else. This could potentially be a huge blow to the Panthers and Christian McCaffrey.
