"The Rams used their first pick in the NFL draft this past April to select Cam Akers in the second round, so expect to see Akers get an early opportunity to demonstrate his ability," said Thiry. He will compete with Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown for the lion share of carries in the Rams backfield. Akers is reportedly the odds on favorite to lead the Rams in touches. The 21-year-old logged 231 carries for 1,144 yards and 14 touchdowns in his junior year at Florida State. Akers is a target in dynasty leagues and is currently 28th among all running backs in the latest re-draft expert consensus rankings.
