Laviska Shenault Jr. has a real chance to start in the slot Week 1

by Adam Koffler | Seahawks Correspondent | Wed, Aug 26th 7:19am EDT

According to Jaguars SI.com writer John Shipley, rookie WR Laviska Shenault Jr. could realistically start in the slot Week 1, especially if Dede Westbrook remains sidelined with the shoulder injury. (Sports Illustrated)

Fantasy Impact:

“Shenault continues to show strong hands across the middle during team drills,” noted Shipley. Given Westbrook’s injury seems like something that could be more than just day-to-day, it’s shaping up to see Shenault play a large role in the offense on day one. There may be some growing pains for the rookie, but with an o/u of 4.5 wins on the season, the possible gamescripts for the Jaguars should enable Shenault to get plenty of work in the passing game this season.
