Jonathan Taylor 'a candidate to contribute in the passing game'

Stephen Holder of The Athletic writes that rookie RB Jonathan Taylor "is a candidate to contribute in the passing game" this season. (The Athletic)

Fantasy Impact:

It was previously reported that Taylor has been struggling with drops during training camp. The rookie notably dropped two passes out of the backfield on Saturday. However, he caught a touchdown during Monday's scrimmage. "Considering Rivers’ propensity for throwing the ball to running backs, it would be surprising if Taylor wasn’t somewhat a factor as a receiver out of the backfield," Holder wrote. Of course, Nyheim Hines is going to be involved in third-down situations, but Taylor has the talent to straight run away with bell-cow duties in this backfield. His play on the field will ultimately determine how often Hines or Marlon Mack see touches in this offense.
