Rob Gronkowski to see limited snaps in season opener?

by Alex Burns | Tue, Sep 1st 12:12pm EDT

After a one-year retirement from the NFL, Buccaneers TE Rob Gronkowski may not be ready to play a full compliment of snaps come Week 1. When asked about how much Gronkowski will play in their season-opener against the Saints, head coach Bruce Arians said, "We'll play it by ear." (Pro Football Talk)

Fantasy Impact:

Arians also noted that Gronkowski struggled with a 16-play drive in the teams most recent scrimmage, prompting some to wonder if he is ready for a full workload. With fellow tight ends O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate also on the roster, Tampa Bay could afford to ease the former All-Pro tight end in gradually without missing much of a step. Currently being drafted as a top-10 TE, those holding drafts in the coming days may want to look elsewhere as his early season snap-count remains a question mark.
