Adrian Peterson to get early-down work?

by Brad Camara | Lions Correspondent | Wed, Sep 2nd 1:29pm EDT

Ben Standig of the Athletic predicts RB Adrian Peterson will see the majority of early-down work for the Washington Football Team. (The Athletic)

Fantasy Impact:

"Peterson gets the early downs with the explosive rookie Antonio Gibson and the pass-catching J.D. McKissic next in line for touches," per Standig. "That trio should be plenty busy early in the season as offensive coordinator Scott Turner looks to take the pressure off Haskins and the OL, and put the ball into his playmakers’ hands with short to intermediate throws." The 35-year-old expects to see the heavy workload for Week 1. Peterson logged 211 carries for 898 yards and five touchdowns in 2019. He is currently 41st among all running backs in the latest expert consensus rankings.
