Robert Tonyan to open season as Packers' top pass-catching TE?

by Brad Camara | Bears Correspondent | Wed, Sep 2nd 1:59pm EDT

Robert Tonyan could start the season as Green Bay's top receiving threat at tight end, per Matt Schneidman of the Athletic. (The Athletic)

Fantasy Impact:

Jace Sternberger was projected to be the Packers' top tight end, but Tonyan could have surpassed him as Green Bay's top pass-catching option. "It doesn’t seem as if the Packers are quite ready to thrust Sternberger into the No. 1 tight end role," per Schneidman. "There’s nothing wrong with that, he’s caught three passes in his career and spent a couple of weeks this summer on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and Tonyan will likely be the main receiving option at the position to start the season." Tonyan hauled in 10 catches on 15 targets for 100 yards over 11 games in 2019. The 26-year-old is worth a flyer in deep-league and Tight End-Premium scoring formats.
