Tevin Coleman could sit out due to air quality

by Todd Steele | Sat, Sep 12th 11:27am EDT

Tevin Coleman was held out of Friday's practice due to a preexisting health condition, and he could miss Sunday's game against the Cardinals if the air quality index (AQI) in Santa Clara remains at 150 or higher, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. (Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Tevin Coleman, 27, has the sickle cell trait, making him particularly sensitive to air pollution and low oxygen levels. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Coleman would have to make a choice about playing if the air quality index is at 150 or above, which it was during Friday’s practice. If Coleman (health concern) is held out due to poor air conditions against the Cardinals on Sunday, Jerick McKinnon could be in line for primary backup duties behind Raheem Mostert, and Mostert getting a few extra carries.
