James Conner has hope to play in Week 2

by Garett Thomas | Cardinals Correspondent | Tue, Sep 15th 1:31pm EDT

James Conner's ankle injury may not keep him from paying in Week 2. Head coach Mike Tomlin gave a vague window of opportunity stating that he will 'leave the light on' for Conner to play against the Broncos. (Andrew Siciliano on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Conner's updated timetable seems to confirm optimism for his fantasy stakeholders. While you should still expect Conner to miss Week 2, this does provide hope that the Steelers could feature Conner. Even if he plays, Conner has an uphill battle against a solid Denver running defense who held Derrick Henry to 3.7 yards per attempt on 31 rushing attempts. Look for Benny Snell on waivers and prepare for Conner to miss despite this update. If Conner plays then worst-case you have the handcuff to an injury prone running back.
