Bengals tight end C.J. Uzomah is out for the remainder of the 2020 season after tearing his right Achilles during Thursday's loss to the Cleveland Browns, head coach Zac Taylor confirmed Friday. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Uzomah was carted off the field on Thursday, and the initial reports were pessimistic about a potentially serious Achilles injury. Unfortunately, those fears were confirmed on Friday. Through two games this season, Uzomah caught eight of his 11 targets for 87 yards and a touchdown. With Uzomah out, Drew Sample is expected to step in as the starting tight end in Cincinnati.
