Saquon Barkley suffered torn ACL based on manual tests, initial diagnosis

by Dave Kluge | Giants Correspondent | Sun, Sep 20th 4:47pm EDT

Saquon Barkley has been diagnosed with a torn ACL during his initial inspection but will have an MRI on Monday to confirm the severity, but the belief is that he is done for the year. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

A torn ACL is almost always a season-ender. Dion Lewis and Wayne Gallman would be next up for carries but the Giants will likely bring in a free agent, possibly Devonte Freeman. Barkley struggled to find openings behind a poor offensive line this season and anyone that takes his role would likely be much less efficient than the superstar back. If his season were to end he would finish with 19 carries for 34 yards and six receptions for 60 yards without finding pay dirt.
