Jordan Reed takes advantage of opportunity, scores twice in Week 2 win

by Alex Burns | Sun, Sep 20th 9:35pm EDT

Jordan Reed hauled in seven of a team-high eight targets for 50 yards and two touchdowns during the 49ers' 31-13 victory over the Jets on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

Reed surely took advantage of his increased role with George Kittle (knee) forced to miss this game as he headlined the 49ers' passing attack on Sunday. It's unclear how much longer Kittle will be out, but if he is forced to miss next week, there is no reason why Reed shouldn't be fired up as a top-15 TE with top-10 upside. It is worth mentioning that Jimmy Garappolo exited with an ankle sprain and could miss up to six weeks, leaving Nick Mullens at the helm moving forward. Fantasy managers should continue to pay close attention to Kittle's status throughout the week as Reed offers little to no fantasy value when the All-Pro TE is on the field.
