Saquon Barkley's MRI confirms torn ACL

Giants running back Saquon Barkley underwent an MRI of his right knee that confirmed a torn ACL, the team announced Monday. He will undergo surgery to repair the injury in the near future and is done for the season. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

This is devastating news for fantasy owners who drafted Barkley with one of the top picks int he first round this Summer. With Barkley out, Dion Lewis is the top candidate for touches in the New York backfield, but he may have to share snaps with Wayne Gallman or a veteran free-agent the team brings in. The team is reportedly hosting free-agent running back Devonta Freeman for a visit this week.
