Devonta Freeman expected to sign with Giants

The news was reported by Mike Garafolo on NFL Network, though nothing has been made official yet. Freeman, who last played for the Falcons in 2019, has remained unsigned mainly due to the fact that he still prefers to be a lead back in the NFL. If the Giants do become his new home, he should certainly lead this backfield in touches, with Dion Lewis and Wayne Gallman mixing in as well. There will certainly be more to come on this developing story but in the meantime, Freeman should be a waiver wire priority heading into Week 3.
