C.J. Beathard will replace Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback in Sunday’s Week 5 contest against the Dolphins. (Cam Inman on Twitter )
Fantasy Impact:
The 49ers are putting Beathard in place of Garoppolo to “protect Jimmy,” said HC Kyle Shanahan. Beathard will enter the game with the 49ers down 30-7 in the third quarter. Garoppolo has been dealing with an ankle injury and reportedly was pulled to protect him from further injury. Beathard will try to bring the 49ers back from a 23 point deficit.
