Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) sheds walking boot, hopeful to return in 2020

49ers' QB Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) is no longer in a walking boot and HC Kyle Shanahan is hopeful that he'll return to the starting lineup next month, per source. (Matt Barrows on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Garoppolo suffered a high ankle sprain earlier in the season and re-aggravated it against the Seahawks in Week 8. Although dealing with injuries to key players at seemingly every position since the start of the 2020 season, Garoppolo has under-performed after leading the 49ers to the Super Bowl in 2019. He will likely continue to miss time after the Week 11Bye but no longer wearing a walking boot is a sign Garoppolo is trending in the right direction.
