Drew Brees (chest/lung) diagnosed with six additional rib fractures

Saints' QB Drew Brees (chest/lung) told ESPN's Ed Werder that doctors have discovered six additional rib fractures while running more tests throughout the week. Despite now having 11 total rib fractures, the 41-year old quarterback has "encouraged" doctors with his lung function recovery. (Ed Werder on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Brees has been sent to short-term IR and isn't eligible to return until Week 14 despite the progress in his recovery. In his absence, the Saints are reportedly preparing to start QB Taysom Hill against the Falcons in Week 11. The Saints signed Hill to a two-year, $21 million contract extension in the offseason and plan on using him over Jameis Winston in a favorable matchup against a sub-par Falcons' secondary.
