Deebo Samuel: Hamstring injury 'doesn't look good' according to head coach

by Alex Burns | 49ers Correspondent | Mon, Dec 14th 9:33am EST

According to 49ers' head coach Kyle Shanahan, the hamstring injury suffered by Deebo Samuel on the first play of the game 'doesn't look good'.

Fantasy Impact:

ESPN's Nick Wagoner also hints that Samuel has a real shot to miss the remainder of the season given his previous history with hamstring issues this year. It's a real blow for the young receiver as he was just finding his stride with 22 receptions and 206 over his last two games. Whether or not he is forced to miss the remainder of the season, rookie Brandon Aiyuk should command a massive target share and should have WR1 upside every week that Samuel is out of the lineup. Aiyuk has 36 receptions for 495 yards and three touchdowns over his last five games and is shaping up to be a real league-winner for those who snagged him. Expect the 49ers' to bring further clarity to Samuel's status at some point during the week but he should be considered doubtful for Week 15.
