La'Mical Perine (ankle) should be back at practice this week

La'Mical Perine was placed on IR with a high-ankle sprain following an injury he suffered in Week 11. He is eligible to return from IR and should be back at practice this week. (Ralph Vacchiano on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
The fourth-round rookie running back showed a few flashes throughout his rookie year but has been otherwise underwhelming while splitting carries with veteran Frank Gore. Now, with Ty Johnson in the mix, Perine should struggle to see any volume that would make him fantasy-relevant. Once you combine the depth chart woes, the Jets winless record, and the notoriously long recovery time for a high-ankle sprain, it's clear that Perine shouldn't be valued as anything more than a lottery ticket pickup in deep leagues.
