Jared Goff and John Wolford to enter training camp in an 'open competition'

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports his understanding is that the Rams will entering training camp with an "open competition" at the quarterback position. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Of course, this competition will be between Jared Goff and John Wolford. This also assumes that Goff will remain on the roster and isn't traded, which isn't a certainty. The Rams apparently like the added dimensions Wolford's legs bring to the offense and it's clear they aren't satisfied with Goff's recent performance. The biggest issue is Goff's un-tradeable contract. His cap hit for the 2021 season is $34.625 million.
