Washington Football Team QB Alex Smith is reportedly considering a return to the team in 2021 and could possibly remain the starter, as reported by John Keim of ESPN. (ESPN.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Smith impressed all fans with his comeback season in Washington after a frightening leg injury nearly cost him his life back in 2018. The veteran quarterback flashed his throwing ability throughout 2020 but was hampered by several calf-related injuries that sidelined him, likely costing the franchise a couple wins due to the inexperienced play of the young quarterback room backing up Smith. With the 2021 offseason already underway for most teams, Washington head coach Ron Rivera stated that "bringing the veteran back as the starter remains a possibility" if the organization is unable to find an upgrade at quarterback in the draft or free agency. Upgrades on the offensive line and wideout positions are necessary if the team wants to be a serious title contender in 2021.
