Jamison Crowder could potentially be a cap casualty

Rich Cimini of ESPN is reporting that WR Jamison Crowder could potentially be a cap casualty for the Jets. New York can save up to $10 million in cap space if Crowder is traded or released. (Rich Cimini of ESPN.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Crowder signed a three-year, $28.5 deal with the Jets in 2019 during the 2019 offseason. The Jets could save up to $10 million in cap space if Crowder is traded or released. “Crowder is vulnerable because his cap charge is a team-high $11.4 million, including a non-guaranteed $10 million in base salary -- a high number for a slot receiver,” per Rich Cimini of ESPN. “Because it's the final year of his contract, he's considered an "easy" cut because his entire base would come off the books.” Crowder has hauled in 137 receptions on 211 targets for 1,532 yards and 12 touchdowns over 28 games in the past two seasons with the Jets. It remains to be seen what the Jets do with Crowder, but his release would boost the fantasy value of Breshad Perriman and Denzel Mims in 2021.
