Cam Akers considered an ‘every-down back’ by head coach Sean McVay

Rams head coach Sean McVay recently told reporters that he views running back Cam Akers as an “every-down back” and a “very special player.” (Stu Jackson on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Akers took complete control over the Rams’ backfield starting in Week 13 vs. the Cardinals and never looked back. He averaged 21.5 carries and 2.8 targets per game while playing over 60% of the snaps in his last four regular season games. Even with Darrell Henderson in the picture, expect Akers to continue to be the focal point of the Rams’ rushing attack. He’s an intriguing option as a low-end RB1 in 2021, especially with an upgrade at the quarterback position with Matthew Stafford now in Los Angeles.
