Chris Carson not expected to be franchise tagged by Seahawks

Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network is reporting that the Seahawks are not expected to use the franchise tag on RB Chris Carson. He’s set to become a free agent. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter )

Carson will become an unrestricted free agent after the Seahawks elected not to use the franchise tag on the 26-year-old running back. He’s been impressive as the Seahawks lead back over the last four seasons, rushing for 3,270 yards and 21 touchdowns across 45 games. Carson will test the free agent market and look to latch onto another team during the offseason. The Seahawks will now turn to former first round pick Rashaad Penny and fourth-round RB Deejay Dallas as Carson’s replacement.
