Sherman spent the first seven years of his career in Seattle, making four Pro Bowls and being named a First-Team All-Pro three times. He joined the 49ers in 2018 and spent three years with the organization, earning one more Pro Bowl nod. In 139 games, the former fifth-round pick has 36 interceptions and 115 passes defended in addition to 484 tackles, two sacks, and five fumbles forced. As Pelissero notes, joining New Orleans would allow Sherman to reunite with Kris Richard, who worked with the Seattle defense from 2010 to 2017. The Saints have a need at cornerback after releasing Janoris Jenkins.
