Tyler Kroft agrees to a one-year deal with the New York Jets

Former Buffalo Bills TE Tyler Kroft has agreed to a one-year contract with the New York Jets, per Rich Cimini. (Rich Cimini on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Kroft will stay within the AFC East and give Jets QB Sam Darnold a new weapon within the offense alongside WR Corey Davis. The seventh-year tight end out of Rutgers had 12 receptions for 119 yards and three touchdowns across 10 games for the Bills in 2020. Kroft becomes a valuable red-zone target for the Jets, as his 6'6 250-pound frame is difficult to cover in tight spaces. He flashed his upside with the Bengals in 2017, totaling 42 receptions for 404 yards and seven touchdowns. In a new offensive system without the influence of previous Jets head coach Adam Gase, Kroft could become the team's TE1 over the oft-injured Chris Herndon in 2021.
