Former San Francisco 49ers and current free-agent QB C.J. Beathard is being hosted for a tryout by the Jacksonville Jaguars, per Ian Rapoport. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Beathard enters his fifth season as a free-agent and will attempt to earn a roster spot with the Jaguars via tryout. Beathard stepped in for relief duties during the last six games of the 2020 season for San Francisco, throwing for six touchdowns and zero interceptions with an impressive 105.7 passer rating. Jaguars' head coach Urban Meyer is looking to add depth at the most important position on the team, as most expect the newcomer to use the No.1 overall draft pick on Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence next month. Rumors of QB Gardner Minshew III being inquired about from other teams have also surfaced over the last few days, making the quarterback room a very interesting focal point to keep eye on under the new regime in Jacksonville.
