Tevin Coleman is 'name to watch' for Jets, per beat writer

Connor Hughes of The Athletic sees free agent running back Tevin Coleman as an intriguing fit for the New York Jets. (The Athletic)

Fantasy Impact:

The Jets have had a fairly strong free agency with the additions of Corey Davis, Jarrad Davis, and Carl Lawson, but the significant void at running back has yet to be filled. Coleman, who has ties to Robert Saleh from their two years together in San Francisco, could serve as a valuable member of New York's backfield alongside La'Mical Perine, who posted just 295 yards and two touchdowns as the No. 2 behind Frank Gore last season. With Gore being a free agent and Perine not ready to fulfill starting duties, a veteran like Coleman could serve as a reliable bridge in the backfield. He battled injuries in 2020 but had a solid 2019, posting 724 yards and seven touchdowns in San Francisco's committee approach. He posted at least 900 yards in each of the three years prior with Atlanta, including 1,076 yards in 2018.
