The Chicago Bears have selected RB Khalil Herbert with the No. 217 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Herbert totaled 1,182 rushing yards for Virginia Tech as a transfer in 2020, averaging 162.8 all-purpose yards per game in nine games last season. He is a one-cut, north and south runner who is capable of finding the lane and accelerating into the second level of the defense. Herbert is a great decision-maker and establishes good ball security, which will allow the Bears to overcome their fumble problems, particularly near the goal line. This selection also aims to build up depth behind David Montgomery, who finished strong last season to remain locked as the Bears' RB1 heading into 2021.
