The Pittsburgh Steelers are "taking a swing at getting T.J. Watt extended before the season starts," according to Albert Breer. (Albert Breer on Twitter)

Breer added, "If I had to guess, I think it gets done, because it's far and away the biggest piece of business they've got this summer." Watt's entering the last year of his rookie deal. An extension would likely lower his north-of-$10 million cap hit, as longterm deals are backloaded with higher cap hits. Watt ranked No. 2 out of 81 edge-defenders in Pro Football Focus' grading system last season. He totaled 53 total tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 41 QB hits, 15 sacks, seven passes defensed, and an interception.
