After signing a two-year, $6 million contract with the Panthers, Dan Arnold intends to be involved in the passing game, saying, "I'm just ready to take on a bigger role, I guess. Having the opportunity to start becoming a good player and a guy who can make a difference on this team." And OC Joe Brady agrees, adding, "The [coaching] tree that I grew up in, the tight ends are the most important position on the field, the matchups that they create, and everything. It's been a point of emphasis this offseason, just trying to get those guys going in the passing game. And I think those guys have kind of taken and ran with it." (NFL.com)
Arnold and Brady were together in New Orleans on the Saints in '17 and '18. A WR in college, Arnold will look to establish a rapport with Sam Darnold during the preseason. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound TE totaled 31 catches on 45 targets for 438 yards and four touchdowns last sason. Arnold appeared in 16 games, starting in five.
