Marquez Valdes-Scantling is expected to be the second-most targeted Packers' receiver this season and be more consistent week-to-week. (The Athletic)

Fantasy Impact:

Valdes-Scantling appears to be taking a big step forward this offseason and there have been noticeable improvements with his consistency, especially as it relates to catching the ball. He was listed as the No. 2 starter behind Adams on the first unofficial depth chart, ahead of Lazard and Cobb and he might be in store for a breakout season. MVS has always been an excellent deep threat option, evidenced by him leading the NFL last season in yards per reception average. What has been lacking from his game is consistency and the ability to win consistently on short and intermediate routes. If MVS has really cleaned up those areas and has separated himself from the other receivers behind him, he could be a valuable fantasy contributor this season. The Packers are once again expected to be one of the highest scoring offenses in the league and for years, fans have been clamoring for a reliable No. 2 target for Aaron Rodgers. If MVS is taking steps towards being that guy, he will be someone fantasy managers will want on their rosters. He is currently ranked as WR81, which means he is free in almost any format.
