Qadree Ollison expected to be the 'true backup,' per reporter

by Andersen Pickard | Fri, Aug 13th 3:08pm EDT

AtlantaFalcons.com reporter Scott Bair opines that running back Qadree Ollison "is likely [Mike] Davis' true backup and has looked good thus far thanks to his offseason training." (AtlantaFalcons.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Bair notes that the Falcons may choose to keep five running backs on the roster. Davis and Ollison would headline the bunch. Fullback Keith Smith should crack the squad, as will Swiss army knife Cordarelle Patterson. Rookie Javian Hawkins is the final name on the list. Ollison, whose main competition for the backup role is Hawkins, has 24 touches and five scores through two seasons in Atlanta. He's listed as the RB92 in the latest expert consensus redraft rankings while Hawkins checks in at RB78. It will be interesting to see how much of a workload Ollison receives behind Davis, the 28-year-old journeyman who filled in admirably with the Panthers during Christian McCaffrey's absence last year.
