TJ Hockenson feels good and appears on track for Week 1, per beat writer

TJ Hockenson continues to excel at training camp. Despite still wearing a non-contact jersey, he continues to look good, having caught a touchdown on 1-on-1's recently. The expectation is he'll be ready for Week 1. (Chris Burke on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Hockenson put together an impressive sophomore season in 2020 and is looking to build on that this year. With the number of vacated targets in Detroit, the former Hawkeye looks locked in as Jared Goff's No. 1 target in the passing game. Despite a likely below-average offense, the third-year breakout candidate is expected to see a lot of volume in an offense that is likely to have to lean on the passing game more often than it would like to due to negative game scripts. The injury appears to be minor and all signs point to Hockenson being ready for Week 1. Fantasy managers should continue to draft him as a top-five tight end with confidence. There are only a handful of tight ends who are looking at the kind of volume he can expect to see in Detroit.
