Adam Trautman likely avoids major foot injury

by Andersen Pickard | Broncos Correspondent | Wed, Aug 25th 12:00am EDT

Saints beat reporter Nick Underhill reports that tight end Adam Trautman "is believed to have escaped any major injury to his ankle/foot." (Nick Underhill on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

This is a positive update for the Saints and their starting tight end after he was carted to the locker room during Monday's game against the Jaguars. New Orleans needs all hands on deck from its pass-catchers this season after Drew Brees retired and Michael Thomas underwent surgery. Trautman, who caught just 15 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown as a rookie last year, is in line for an expanded role in 2021 as he takes over for Jared Cook, who signed with the Chargers. Trautman ranks 19th among tight ends in the latest expert consensus draft rankings. The Dayton product wasn't the only Saints tight end who suffered an injury on Monday; Nick Vannett is awaiting MRI results after injuring his knee.
