Damien Harris rumbles for 117 yards in loss to Dolphins

by Shaan Hoda | Sun, Sep 12th 8:51pm EDT

Damien Harris rushed 23 times for 100 yards and added two catches for 17 yards in Sunday's defeat to Miami. He additionally lost a crucial fumble with just over three minutes left in the game.

Fantasy Impact:

Harris served as the bellcow for the Patriots in the season opener, accounting for 23-of-30 carries. Unfortunately, his afternoon was spoiled by a costly fumble at the Dolphins' 11-yard line with 3:18 left in the game. This allowed Miami to drain the clock and seal the victory. As fantasy managers know all too well, ball-security is everything for head coach Bill Belichick. The good news for Harris is that rookie RB Rhamondre Stevenson coughed up a fumble late in the first quarter, which could allow Harris to continue dominating touches in the backfield. Longtime Patriot James White predictably served as the primary third-down back, but registered a mere four carries. J.J. Taylor was a healthy scratch today, but could be active for next week. Regardless, Harris should be treated as an RB2 against the Jets for Week 2.
