Marquez Valdes-Scantling leads Packers with eight targets in Week 1 loss

by Matthew MacKay | Sun, Sep 12th 10:02pm EDT

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling caught three of eight passes for 17 yards during Sunday's 38-3 blowout loss against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Impact:

Valdes-Scantling drew praise from beat reporters and even Aaron Rodgers throughout training camp and preseason, which translated into a team-high eight targets on Sunday. This is an encouraging sign for Valdes-Scantling's involvement moving forward, as he is presented with a very favorable matchup against the Detroit Lions secondary in Week 2. As a result, MVS is a particularly intriguing play in DFS contests in Week 2, especially if he leads the Packers in targets again. He remains a low-end Flex play in PPR leagues.
