Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring) to see role grow

by Raju Byfield | 49ers Correspondent | Wed, Sep 15th 1:51pm EDT

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk will be eased back into his role for the 49ers. The health of his hamstring will dictate the timeline. (David Lombardi on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

As feared, Aiyuk was used as a decoy in Week 1. Head coach Kyle Shanahan is no stranger to dressing players who are cleared to play but may not be healthy enough to make their normal impact as a way to set up more favorable matchups for his healthy players. Shanahan stated that he is "Happy with Aiyuk' before suggesting that his injured hamstring has led to inconsistencies that the team would like to see cleaned up before dropping him back into a major role in the offense. Deebo Samuel should continue to be treated as the number one receiver until Aiyuk proves he is close to full form. Aiyuk is currently the WR42 for Week 2, according to ECR.
